Bridge Health Monitoring System
AutoSHM - Bridge Health Monitoring System is a real-time health monitoring and data analysis platform for Bridges. The platform monitors the bridge over time using periodically sampled dynamic response measurements from various IoT devices. Inspectors can easily visualize historical data. The platform is analyzing the way inspectors use data to solve problems. The platform provides a powerful bridge health monitoring model based on automated or manually designed machine learning models trained with the bridge’s historical data.
Using this platform, building an anomaly detection model and real-time monitoring for each civil structure is performed in three stages. Initially, IoT sensors embedded in the structure are connected to the platform using MQTT(Message Query Telemetry Transport) protocol and the platform starts collecting the data from each sensor. Then, engineers select the anomaly detection monitoring frequency and annotate the collected historical data to normal and different types of anomalies based on the selected monitoring frequency. On the platform, various feature extraction formulas are implemented from the statistical and frequency domains of the raw data. After the useful features are extracted from the raw data, they are sent to the second stage of the platform. In this stage, engineers select the best model that fits the extracted features among several predefined state-of-the-art anomaly detection models, and the selected model is fine-tuned to achieve higher accuracy. Afterward, the best-trained model is sent to the next stage. In the final stage, the best-trained model predicts the data collected from the sensors at each selected monitoring frequency is normal or one of the predefined anomalies.
